The noise generated by micro planetary gear motors during operation can easily affect equipment experience and service life.

Material selection forms the foundation for noise reduction. For gears in light-load, low-rotation scenarios, plastic gears are preferred, though attention must be paid to temperature rise issues to avoid performance impacts from high temperatures. Compared to steel gears, cast iron gears offer higher vibration damping rates, more effectively reducing operational noise and suiting working conditions with basic noise reduction requirements.

Lubrication and operational parameter control are equally crucial. Sufficient lubrication of motor gears is necessary, and using higher viscosity lubricating oil can reduce frictional impact during gear meshing, thereby lowering noise. Additionally, it's important to control gear rotation speed as much as possible to avoid high-speed operation and reduce the corresponding load on the motor, minimizing noise from the source of operation.

Gear precision and tooth surface treatment significantly influence noise reduction effects. Selecting high-precision gears and reducing pitch errors, tooth profile errors, tooth space deviations, and tooth alignment errors can decrease abnormal collisions during gear meshing and reduce noise. Processing the tooth surface through techniques such as grinding, lapping, and honing, or allowing the motor to run in oil for a period of time, can improve tooth surface roughness and further reduce noise. Furthermore, implementing tooth surface crowning or end-cutting processing to avoid single-piece contact of gears, eliminating tooth surface bruises and dents, and performing appropriate tooth profile modification can optimize the tooth surface contact state and reduce noise sources.

Reasonable setting of backlash should not be overlooked. For motors with relatively balanced loads, setting a slightly larger backlash can alleviate pressure during gear meshing and positively contribute to noise reduction.
